We Started Because Nobody Else Was Going To
Calgary has always had talent. What it has not had is the infrastructure to support it. No central studio that independent artists could actually afford. No platform connecting the musicians, podcasters, and creators who are out here doing the work. No one putting money and energy into building something before there was a guaranteed return.
Red Mile Records opened in May 2025 to change that. We built a professional recording studio and podcast production facility at 1865 17 Ave SW in Calgary. Not a bedroom operation. Not a room above a bar. A real studio with real gear, run by people who have been in the music industry long enough to know what independent artists actually need.
Our mission is straightforward: build the platform that puts Calgary's creative community on the map. That means creating a space where artists can record, release, and promote their music under one roof. It means building a podcast studio where entrepreneurs, creators, and storytellers can produce content that competes with anything coming out of Toronto or Vancouver. And it means doing all of it at pricing that does not shut people out.

Everything You Need to Create, Release, and Grow
Most studios record your music and send you home. We think that is only a third of the job. Getting the music recorded is step one. Getting it mixed, mastered, and sounding professional is step two. Getting it in front of people who will actually listen? That is where most independent artists get stuck, and that is where we come in.
Red Mile Records is the only creative space in Calgary that combines professional recording, podcast production, mixing and mastering, and music marketing under one brand. You do not have to coordinate between a studio, a mix engineer, a mastering house, and a marketing agency. We handle the full pipeline.
For podcasters, we offer monthly memberships that lock in a regular recording schedule at better rates than walk-in pricing. Members get priority booking, and our Growth and Studio Partner members get cross-promoted on Red Mile channels. We believe consistency creates the best content, and memberships make consistency affordable.
For artists, we offer recording at $75/hr with a signal chain that includes Neumann microphones, Neve and Avalon preamps, and a Universal Audio Apollo X6 interface. After tracking, our mixing and mastering service gets your release to streaming platform standards. And when the music is ready, our marketing team handles Spotify playlist pitching, YouTube promotion, and release strategy so your music reaches real listeners.
The Long Game
The studio is the starting point, not the finish line. We are building toward artist management, distribution partnerships, live showcases, and eventually a media network that represents Calgary on a national and international level. When someone says they are from Calgary, we want people to say "Red Mile Records."
That does not happen overnight. It happens by showing up every day, investing in the people who walk through our doors, and building something that the community can be proud of. We are in year one. The foundation is being laid right now, and every artist, every podcaster, and every creator who records here is part of that foundation.
